Mobis Sculpture and Tongrui Industrial: From a Family Workshop to a Two-Factory Setup

At the Sanhua Industrial Park in Huanggang, Hubei, a uniquely shaped sculpture named “Mobis” stands quietly. The name “Mobis” is derived from the Möbius strip, but it is not a simple replication of the “∞” symbol; rather, it embodies a profound understanding of topological structures that transcend dimensional boundaries—lines extending infinitely, circulating endlessly through space.

The actual realization of this concept is, in itself, a test of engineering limits: standing 26 meters tall above ground, with foundations extending more than 20 meters below, the central pillar runs through the entire structure as the primary load-bearing element. Each step cantilevers outward from one side of the central pillar, relying on cantilevered unsupported technology and finite element topological optimization to achieve a light, airy effect without ground-level supports. The entire project was completed by the company’s in-house team, without relying on any external contractors.

What enabled this project to move from blueprints to reality was a steadily growing team of professionals. Starting in 1990 as a small family workshop run by a husband and wife, the company has now grown into a team of over 200 people, with core designers possessing more than 20 years of experience in steel structure engineering. The team possesses end-to-end capabilities, ranging from detailed design to on-site installation.

The completion of the Mobis Sculpture also marks the official commencement of operations at the Sanhua Factory in Huanggang, establishing a dual-factory layout for Tongrui Industry in Suzhou and Huanggang. The coordinated operation of the Suzhou (6,000 m²) and Huanggang (60,000 m²) facilities—equipped with processing lines for steel structures, glass, wood, and other materials—ensures production capacity and timely delivery, with services covering more than 200 cities in China and over 20 countries overseas.
